A small article about Harry when he was still alive from the OC Register December 7, 2013 by Cindy McNatt. I know many of us have missed this article and I thought it would be a great tribute to share this article with everybody once again. Repost from OC Register December 7, 2013 by Cindy McNatt Even though Harry Hirao retired two years ago, he wakes up at dawn on most days and heads out at first light. I'm still shocked to see how much Harry has impacted our bonsai lives. Many have gone rock collecting or California Juniper collecting with him. I'm a rare person that has never collecting with Harry. But, I did have a chance to talk to him one on one on several ocassions. But all conservations revolved around Junipers or Eel River. I did have the opportunity to visit his personal home when he was still alive. I was surprised to see the depth of California Juniper in my life!
GSBF Convention just updated their webpage today. Annoucement that Harry's trees and stones will be up for auction at GSBF banquet. Also, Kathy Shaner will be conducting a workshop with some of Harry's collected trees on Sunday morning. Link below: http://www.gsbfconvention.org/workshop.html #HarryHirao
